- milk – 1 and 1/4 cup
- water – 1/4 cup
- turmeric powder – 1 teaspoon or 1-inch piece of turmeric root
- green cardamom – 1
- cloves – 1
- ginger – 1/2 teaspoon, optional
- sugar or honey – 1 tablespoon or to taste
how to make turmeric milk or haldi wala doodh
1.To make turmeric milk (haldi doodh), bring milk to a boil along with turmeric powder or grated turmeric, cardamom, cloves, ginger. The addition of ginger is optional. Sometimes, there are chances that milk will curdle when you add ginger. So you can replace it with dry ginger powder also. Once the milk starts boiling, reduce the flame to low and cook for a couple of minutes.
2. Then turn off the flame, and leave it aside covered for a few more minutes.
3. Strain the milk into a serving glass, add sugar or honey, black pepper powder, mix well. Serve turmeric milk hot.
