|ripe banana / nendran pazham||1 large|
|maida / all purpose flour||3/4 cup|
|rice flour||3 tablespoon|
|turmeric powder||a pinch|
|sugar||1 -2 teaspoon (depending on the ripeness of banana)|
|baking powder (optional)||a pinch (I haven’t added any)|
|water||as required to make batter|
|oil||for deep frying|
1. Mix maida, sugar, salt, baking powder (if using), turmeric powder and water in a bowl and blend it well to form a semi thick batter.
2. Peel the bananas and slice them into half and then slice each half into 3 or more to get thin slices.
3. In a pan heat oil.
4. When the oil is hot enough, dip each sice in batter, coat the batter evenly on each slice and slowly, slide the coated banana pieces into the oil and fry them until they become golden brown. Flip them in between.
5. Remove from oil and drain excess oil with kitchen towel.
6. Serve it hot.
