ghee roast dosa, tasty and easy to make South Indian dosa recipe

Ingredients
  • idli rice - 2 cups
  • urad dal - ½ cup
  • fenugreek seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • beaten rice - ⅓ cup
  • salt - to taste
  • ghee - as required
Method
  1. Soak idli rice, urad dal, fenugreek seeds separately in enough water for 4 - 5 hours.
  2. Just before grinding, add poha to the rice and leave it aside.
  3. Same way, grind urad dal, fenugreek seeds together with little water and grind to a smooth batter. Transfer to to a bowl.
  4. Grind rice and poha with just enough water to a smooth batter. Transfer it to a bowl along with urad dal batter.
  5. Add salt, mix well.
  6. Allow the batter to ferment for 10 - 12 hours.
  7. Take the required amount of batter, add water to get the desired dosa batter consistency.
  8. Heat a skillet and grease it with oil.
  9. Take a ladle full of batter and pour it onto the hot skillet. Spread the dosa in circular motion. Spread as thin as possible.
  10. Cook the dosa in medium flame till it becomes golden brown on one side.
  11. Flip the dosa to the other side and cook on that side too.
  12. Serve ghee roast with coconut chutney and sambar.
