jeera aloo - tasty and easy to make cumin flavored potato for chapati or rice

Ingredients
  • aloo or potato - 4, boiled, peeled and cubed
  • cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • green chili - 2, chopped
  • turmeric powder - ¼ teaspoon
  • red chili powder - ½ teaspoon
  • garam masala - ¼ teaspoon
  • salt - to taste
  • coriander leaves - ¼ cup, finely chopped
  • oil - 2 tablespoons
  • lemon juice - 2 teaspoons
Method
  1. Boil potato in a pressure cooker for 3 - 4 whistles. Peel them, cut into cubes. Keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan. Sizzle cumin seeds. Add chopped green chili.
  3. Add potato cubes, and saute well for a few minutes.
  4. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, salt and mix well.
  5. Add finely chopped coriander leaves, lemon juice, mix well.
  6. jeera aloo is ready. Serve with chapati or with rice.
