  • soya chunks - 1 cup
  • potato - 2 medium, boiled, peeled and mashed
  • onion - 1, finely chopped
  • ginger - ½ teaspoon, grated
  • green chili - 1, finely chopped
  • cumin seeds or jeera - 1 teaspoon
  • turmeric power - ¼ teaspoon
  • red chili powder - ½ teaspoon
  • coriander powder - ½ teaspoon
  • garam masala powder - ½ teaspoon
  • amchur powder - ½ teaspoon
  • chaat masala - ½ teaspoon
  • salt - to taste
  • coriander leaves - few
  • bread crumbs - ½ cup
  • oil - for frying
  • for paste
  • maida - 1 tablespsoon
  • corn flour - 1 tablespoon
  • water - as required
  1. Bring water to a boil in a pan.  When the water starts boiling, add the soya chunks, turn off the flame.  Cover the pan and leave it aside for 15 to 20 minutes.  Open the pan, rinse the soya chunks twice or thrice.  Squeeze out the excess water.
  2. Add the soya chunks to a bowl.  Break it into small pieces.
  3. Add boiled and mashed potato, chopped onion, green chili, coriander leaves, and mix well.
  4. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, amchur powder, garam masala, chaat masala, salt, and mix well.
  5. Add bread crumbs, mix well and make it to a dough.
  6. Divide the dough into equal sized balls.  Take one ball, shape it into patties.  Keep aside.
  7. Add maida, corn flour to a bowl.  Add water little by little and make it into a smooth paste.  Keep aside.
  8. Take bread crumbs in a plate.
  9. Take one of the prepared patty, dip it into the prepared maida batter, and gently roll it on the bread crumbs.  Keep aside.  Repeat the same steps with the rest of the dough.
  10. Heat oil in a pan.  When the oil is hot enough, carefully place the prepared patties into the hot oil and fry them in medium flame till done.
