Ingredients
  • cornflakes - 2 cups
  • oil - 2 tablespoons
  • mustard - ½ teaspoon
  • curry leaves - 8 - 10
  • peanut - ¼ cup
  • roasted gram dal - 2 tablespoons
  • cashew nuts - 2 tablespoons
  • raisins - 2 tablespoons
  • turmeric powder - ¼ teaspoon
  • red chili powder - ½ teaspoon
  • fennel seed powder - ½ teaspoon
  • amchur powder or dry mango powder - ½ teaspoon
  • sugar - ½ teaspoon (optional)
  • salt - to taste
Method
  1. Heat oil in a pan.
  2. Splutter mustard seeds.
  3. Add curry leaves and fry till the entire moisture goes off.
  4. Add peanuts, roasted gram dal, cashew nuts and fry till golden brown and crisp.
  5. Add raisins and fry till they puff up.
  6. Reduce the flame to low.
  7. Add spice powders, salt and mix well.
  8. Turn off the flame.
  9. Add corn flakes, mix well.
  10. cornflakes chivda is ready
