Ingredients
  • dark chocolate - 1 cup
  • sweetened condensed milk - ½ cup
  • butter - 1 tablespoon
  • walnuts or almonds - ¼ cup
  • vanilla essence - ½ teaspoon
Method
  1. First line the bottom and sides of a 6x6 inch baking pan. Keep aside.
  2. Take roughly chopped chocolate pieces in a heatproof bowl. To this add condensed milk, butter, mix.
  3. Now bring water to a boil in a pan. When the water starts boiling, reduce the flame to low. Place the pan containing the chocolate mixture on top of it. Take care that the bowl should not touch the water.
  4. Stir frequently and melt the chocolate mixture. Once the chocolate is melted, turn off the flame. Take care not to heat the mixture too much, otherwise, it will become grainy.
  5. Wipe the bottom of the bowl with a kitchen towel to remove any excess water. Now add in chopped nuts, vanilla essence and mix well.
  6. Now spread the fudge on the prepared pan and smoothen the surface with a spatula. Let it cool at room temperature. Do not cover the pan. Once the fudge is completely cooled, cover the pan and place it in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 hours or until it sets completely.
  7. Now carefully remove the fudge from the pan by lifting the edges of the foil. Place them on a flat surface. Cut the chocolate fudge pieces using a sharp knife.
  8. chocolate fudge can be stored in the refrigerator for a few days or if properly wrapped can be stored in the freezer for several months.
